At David's Place II our participants have the opportunity to visit volunteer sites that help them learn skills which prepare them for entering the workforce. 

Participants get the chance to make travel plans to a destination of their choosing to practice independent time management and comprehension skills.

Our Job Development Coordinators work with participants every day to help them apply to positions, visit potential job sites, and prepare them for interviews.

At David's Place II our participants have the opportunity to work with the Aquarium of the Pacific and utilize what they learn in class through the collection of trash in surrounding areas and through the organization and packaging of materials at the Aquarium warehouse.

At the Long Beach Rescue Mission, participants have the opportunity to prepare food for attendants of the Rescue Mission as well as organize pantry items by type and expiration date.

At the Rancho Los Cerritos, participants get some fresh air and have the opportunity to work on gardening and yardwork tasks to add to their vocational skills.

At the Museum of Latin American Art, participants have the opportunity to prepare arts and crafts supplies for various classes taught at the museum.

During the Job Development phase of the program, participants work on job applications and visit potential worksites to inquire about current openings.

During Destination Training, participants have the opportunity to learn how to use public transportation and directions to travel to travel to locations independently outside of program.
